1. Information We Collect

PhoneticSleep does not collect any personally identifiable information. The app operates entirely on your device.

The app stores the following data locally on your device only:

App preferences (theta frequency, volume, phoneme interval) via iOS UserDefaults
Sleep session history (duration, phonemes played, language) stored locally
Quiz results stored locally for progress tracking
Wake-up alarm time stored locally

None of this data is transmitted to any server or third party.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

No name, email, or account information
No location data
No microphone recordings or audio data
No device identifiers sent to servers
No analytics or tracking
No advertising identifiers
No health data or sleep sensor data

3. Audio Processing

PhoneticSleep synthesizes audio (theta waves, binaural beats, phoneme sounds) in real time using mathematical algorithms. This audio is played through your device speakers or headphones only. No audio is recorded or stored.

The app requests background audio permission to continue playing during sleep while the screen is off. This is used solely to keep the audio session active.

4. Notifications

If you enable the wake-up alarm feature, PhoneticSleep requests permission to send local notifications. These notifications are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device — no data is sent to any server to process notifications.

5. Third-Party Services

PhoneticSleep does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services. The app has no server backend.

6. Children's Privacy

PhoneticSleep does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The app contains no advertising and no user accounts.

7. Data Security

Since all data is stored locally on your device, your data is protected by your device's built-in security mechanisms (passcode, Face ID, etc.). Deleting the app removes all locally stored data permanently.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available at this URL. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
